Dr. Salman Nizam is a Consultant Subspecialist in Neurology with more than 14 years of experience in the Maldivian healthcare sector, having worked in the Maldives since 2012. He began his medical career at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) as a Medical Officer and later served as a Consultant in Internal Medicine at ADK Hospital before undertaking specialist training in Neurology.

He completed his MBBCh at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and a Fellowship in Neurology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

His clinical interests include stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, neuro-ophthalmology, central nervous system infections, headache and migraine, demyelinating diseases, and peripheral nerve disorders.

Dr. Nizam is committed to providing evidence-based, comprehensive and patient-centred neurological care, while contributing to the continued development and advancement of neurological services in the Maldives.
